Luxury River Cruise Holland

Louise Tours Manager from Acklams Holidays was recently invited on a fantastic familiarisation trip to experience a brand-new river cruise product.
Our journey began with KLM, flying conveniently from Humberside Airport to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, followed by a smooth train transfer to Rotterdam.
We spent the morning exploring Rotterdam, a vibrant and modern city offering fantastic museums, green parks, lively outdoor cafés, and an impressive network of trams and bicycles. It’s a destination full of energy and culture, and a great starting point for any itinerary.

The Nobleman — a stunning river cruise ship

We then met the group and boarded our home for the next two nights, The Nobleman — a stunning river cruise ship launched in 2025. She operates alongside her sister ship, The Gentleman, and is part of a family-owned company, with a father and daughter leading the leisure side of the business, alongside a wider fleet of tanker vessels.

We set sail from Rotterdam at midnight and arrived the following morning in Hoorn. This charming Dutch city, with a population of just over 70,000, is rich in history and surrounded by waterways. Located just 35km from Amsterdam, Hoorn offers excellent connections while retaining a peaceful, authentic feel.

A guided tour of the city was a highlight, finishing at a beautifully restored central church, now transformed into a stylish bar, hotel, and apartments. Sampling local beer and cheese here was the perfect way to round off the day.

That evening, we sailed back towards Amsterdam, where we docked and disembarked the following morning.

Onboard Experience

The Nobleman offers a premium all-inclusive experience with a 168-person capacity in 84 cabins. The other itineraries include the Rhine River and the Danube. The Nobleman boasts a sauna, gym and massage room and the food and service throughout were exceptional, with plenty of choice and consistently high standards.

The cabins are tastefully decorated, featuring elegant touches such as Delft style pottery artwork. Beds are extremely comfortable, and the panoramic windows — which open electronically halfway down — create a balcony-like experience.

Bathrooms are modern and well-equipped, with walk-in showers, luxury toiletries, and hairdryers, reflecting the high-quality finish found throughout the ship.

Overall Impression

This was a superb introduction to a premium river cruise product, combining stylish accommodation, outstanding service, and well-planned itineraries. A truly enjoyable and memorable experience.
