A Girls’ Holiday to Portugal: Sun, Sea and Late Nights

I have recently returned from a fabulous girls holiday to Portugal, I have finally caught up on my sleep and my knees have almost recovered from the dancing until 3am [😂]

Staying in Albufeira Old Town: Cerro Mar Atlantic Hotel

We stayed at the 4 star Cerro Mar Atlantic which we chose due to it being just down the 95 steps to the old town so we could be in the middle of the nightlife within 5 minutes. I requested sea view rooms and this is what we got although I thought the rooms were just a little dated the views more than made up for this (friends called me a snob and thought the rooms where perfect)

Albufeira Old Town Nightlife: Bars, Music and Dancing Until 3am

The nightlife in the old town is perfect for all ages with live music until 10 down bar street and then the bars where open until the early hours and even leaving at 3am they where all still busy. My favourite bar has to be YOLO and the Gold Party was a fantastic night.

Bars, Restaurants and Beaches in Albufeira Old Town

The old town square and the surrounding streets has plenty of bars for a quieter night and lots of restaurants to choose from. The beaches are also within walking distance and are absolutely stunning.

A More Relaxed Evening at Albufeira Marina

For a different night altogether we headed to the marina for a meal and the bars there are more relaxed.

Weather in Portugal: Sunshine All Week

We were very lucky with the weather being in the mid to late 20's for all of our stay with not a cloud in the sky.

Already Planning Our Next Portugal Holiday

Currently looking at booking again for September 2025 we loved it that much and it is perfect for any age group especially ours who still act like we are 30 something's and are still partial to the odd night of throwing ourselves around the dancefloor
